Fused Form Collaborates with BMW and Technical University of Munich on Research Paper

The research article titled “Modeling Fused Filament Fabrication using Artificial Neural Networks” was developed in collaboration between the Technical University of Munich, BMW, Fused Form, and Universität Duisburg-Essen.

The study explores the use of an artificial neural network (ANN) model to predict nozzle forces in FFF 3D printing, using filament feed rate and injector temperatures as input data. To enable these measurements, Fused Form engineered a custom instrumented 3D printer, providing critical data for the research.

This collaboration highlights the growing role of pellet and filament 3D printing technologies in advancing predictive modeling and AI-driven process optimization.
